Racing Victoria stewards have issued 13 charges against leading Wodonga trainer Brian Cox following a race-day stable inspection earlier this year.

The charges, which could be career ending, came about on March 10 when Racing Victoria’s Compliance Assurance Team (CAT) inspected Cox’s Wodonga stable and located anĀ anabolic steroid thatĀ is a prohibited substance under the rules of racing.

Cox was also charged under AR 175(a) in that he physically manhandled RV steward Dion Villella in an attempt to remove the prohibited substance from the possession of Villella.

Cox also faces another chargeĀ Ā of improper action or practice in that he forcibly pushed RV steward Rhys Melville during the stable inspection.

He is also charged with givingĀ false or misleading evidence to RV stewards regarding the prohibited substance that were found.
