Truesdail Laboratories, which has been the source of controversy since a quality check by the Indiana Horse Racing Commission this summer, is under scrutiny by the Racing Medication and Testing Consortium, according to the Daily Racing Form.

The RMTC has sent a report to lab officials outlining concerns about its operations following a site inspection that took place in September. The consortium declined to provide details on what the inspector found, and told the Form that a decision has not yet been made on the laboratory’s RMTC accreditation.

RMTC executive director Dr. Dionne Benson did say that the lab appeared to be “very willing to address” the findings in the report.

The facility came under fire this summer when the Indiana commission revealed that the lab had missed seven drug overages during an audit in which samples were sent to other testing facilities. It has since terminated its contract with Truesdail.
