The Ohio State Racing Commission (OSRC) will host an open forum to discuss the regulation and licensing of advance deposit wagering (ADW) platforms in Ohio.

The meeting will take place on March 27, 2017 at 1 pm in room 1960 of the Riffe Center, 77 South High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215, and is open to all pari-mutuel stakeholders, horsemen’s associations and the public.

“This first meeting will be to assess what all of the interested parties in Ohio racing think of ADWs and how they should be regulated here,” said Robert Schmitz, OSRC Chairman. “We’re looking for input from everyone.”

As well, the OSRC will hold an open forum at the Riffe Center on April 5 in room 1960 at 10 am to discuss out of competition testing. This meeting is also open to the public, interested parties, pari-mutuel stakeholders and horsemen’s groups.

“Both ADWs and out of competition testing are two areas that need to be studied and strategically developed in Ohio,” Chairman Schmitz added. “These meetings are open to the world and we’re hoping to generate ideas that will continue to elevate the Ohio racing program to even greater heights.”

The OSRC asks that anyone wishing to speak at either meeting to please send their comments in advance to OSRC Executive Director Bill Crawford.

The OSRC’s next two monthly meetings will be held on March 30 and April 24 respectively, in room 1960 at 10 am at the Riffe Center.
