Despite delays in the turnaround of equine test results in 2014, the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission on Monday, March 23, opted to extend its agreement with LGC Science to be its testing lab.
The commission approved extending the current memorandum with LGC through June 30, 2016. KHRC executive director John Ward Jr. noted that after June of next year the KHRC lab contract will be open for bids. He said any further delays at LGC could hurt the lab’s chances at being selected at that point.
Ward added that, other than last year’s delays, the KHRC has been pleased with the quality of LGC’s work.
