The owners of leading Blue Diamond Stakes contender Of The Brave will have to find a new trainer following the disqualification of Mark Riley.

The Victorian trainer was given the ban for a bi-carb offence on Monday, a day before acceptances for Saturday’s Group One race at Caulfield.

Chief steward Terry Bailey says the owners of the colt can accept without a nominated trainer and then make application for a new trainer.

Bailey says although Riley has a week to arrange for the transfer of horses in his Mornington stable, he is a disqualified person with immediate effect.

Riley’s legal counsel says they will appeal to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and ask for a stay of proceedings until it is heard.

Gold For Kev ran with a higher than allowed level of TC02 in his system in a race at Sandown last July.
