Trainer Peter Moody has been fined $12,000 by Racing New South Wales (RNSW) following an investigation into House Of Hingis testing positive to the banned substance ibuprofen.

Moody was found guilty of presenting the three-year-old daughter of Swiss Ace with the substance in her system when she finished fifth at Rosehill on November 15 and when she finished third at Warwick Farm on November 28.

RNSW Stewards took into account Moody’s record over the past 17 years before fining him $6,000 for each positive test.

House Of Hingis has now also been disqualified from each of the races and the placings have been amended.

Samples were taken on December 16 from all horses at Moody’s Randwick stable by RNSW veterinarian, Dr Craig Suann and RNSW Chairman of Stewards, Ray Murrihy, and all returned negative results.

The news follows fewer than three weeks after Moody was notified by Racing Victoria stewards that a horse he trains, Lidari, had been found to have tested above the legal limit of 200 micrograms per litre for cobalt in October’s Turnbull Stakes.

Two other high-profile trainers, Mark Kavanagh and Danny O’Brien, also received similar notifications from RV Stewards at the same time.

In 2013, trainer Chris Waller had four horses test positive to ibuprofen but wasn’t penalised by stewards after they were satisfied the positive tests were a result of contaminated feed.
